“Thoroughly enjoyed the trip on board the Karaka recently. The crew are excellent and our guide brought us up to date with the history of the islands. We took the trip to taste the local wine on one of the islands. This only involved a short hike into the countryside where we sat in the back garden of our host (under shade) and for a few Euros each sampled the local fare. “This was a really beautiful and relaxing day and we (me age 52 and my boys aged 15/17) really enjoyed it. You have to meet the boat at Gruz port which is 5 mins by the 1A, 1B, 3 or 8 bus.bus from the old town. Go to Pile Gate, find the kiosk in advance to get tickets. The islands are very pretty and well signposted and are easy to wander through when you land. We did a quick walk/explore on Kolocep, another walk on Sipan although the focus on Sipan is to taste and buy olive oil and wine, and then we got the golf buggy over to Sunj…”

“We spent most of the time in Lopud, which was beautiful. There was enough to do - churches to visit, an art gallery, shops, a park and restaurants. There was enough space on the sandy beaches for everyone to sit and enjoy the beautiful water. The guys on the boat were helpful and attentive in terms of ensuring we got on and off the boat. We ate a late lunch on the second island, because they told us it was cheaper, though the choices were limited because the island was smaller. “We had a fabulous morning on the private boat tour. We are a family of 6 with 4 children of ages 24, 21,19 and 12 years and the trip was enjoyed by all of us. Maro was a great captain, welcomed us and explained all that we saw. He even encouraged me to jump in to swim into the blue cave.
